Good news, I haven't been got by the heatwave...! Not even had much time to enjoy it, more's the pity. And no sooner did Cameron ask, and the sky closed down under thick ugly grey stuff and it's been spitting mucky rain for two days! It's dropped down to a poopy 12°C, putting an end to 2 months of incredible sunshine and I've had to dig out all my snuggly jumpers. But I've rediscovered the one with ears and paws, which is cool!
They've almost finished building the all-important mezzanine level into the Tesco store here in Merthyr, so I'll be surplus to requirements soon. I'm looking into a few other things for now, but I'm not telling...
I was enjoying a lot of skiving time before, but it's been too busy lately, where it's all a panic trying to complete this silly supermarket in time. However, I'm trying to look busy at the moment, and pretending I have a lot on my plate, so I can e-mail my Mum in Africa, research a nice new 60 litre rucksack, and finally add another message on here!
I had my aunt Anna and two cousins visiting the week before last, which was great! I hadn't seen them in 5 years, since a birthday party at which I was dressed as 'Like A Virgin' Madonna and they girls were both quite little - but they still recognised who I was supposed to be, which I was very impressed about! Ellie and Lydia are now 13 and 9! Wow! We had lots of pizza, saw Pirates of the Caribbean 2, and also organised our own little concert in the junk room one evening. I dug out my old clarinet (eep!), Els managed to dust off the Old Joanna, and Anna was on violin. Lydia was the indomitable composer/conductress, and didn't half tell us off if we went wrong..! Hopefully they'll be back really soon, for our next rehearsal :)
Last weekend was the Big Weekend in Cardiff, with plenty of music and not enough fireworks. I managed to catch Los Pacaminos, which means nothing at all, but is a fun cheesy Mexican style band fronted by Paul Young. That was muchos fun. The Council must have forked out quite a bit for him, as they really had to skimp on the pyrotechnics afterwards. Always my favourite part! Last year they had beautiful fireworks that exploded in big heart-shapes... how do they do that?!! And I also had the most amazing baked potato with cheese and beans from a polystyrene dish. Mmmm.
I feel snooze on the train coming. Going to close my eyes and pull my ears over my face.
